Working closely with National Grid's research and technology business, Advantica, National Grid Property uses a mixture of new and established technologies to design the most appropriate clean up methodology for each individual site.
Safety is and will always be top priority. Whilst the company recognises that established methodologies have proven track records, it is constantly looking to provide the best environmental solutions. To this end, National Grid Property is continually seeking to develop, validate and utilise new technologies to enable land, where appropriate, to be cleaned up in situ.
Over the past four years, National Grid Property has invested over £11 million in research and development of new technologies and methodology to provide environmentally-friendly alternatives, such as bioremediation, soil washing and vapour extraction.
